Crate.

I found a really neat soda crate not too long ago. I love the colors, rust, chips and grunge that becomes her.

I also found some really pretty dogwood branches and a sweet little nest to dress her up a bit.

I love that it is from Washington too.

She sits on my dining room table until I decorate for Easter.

Ahhh……the sun feels so good……

Abby thinks so too.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I waited till the last possible moment to decorate for Valentine’s Day. (I want to fast forward and decorate for Spring and Easter)!

When I found these cute hydrangea puffs at Michaels I became inspired.

I thought they would look adorable hanging from branches.

Our curly willow tree lost some BIG branches due to the weight of the snow that we got last month. So I grabbed a little saw and cut off what I wanted.

I ordered this cute sampler from here.

I saw it in the February issue of Romantic Homes and loved it. I doubt it will ever get stitched but that’s ok:)

The frame that holds the sampler is a thrifting find. So are the sweet little crystal cups.

In my cloche now are two sweet, white, chippy birds.

The tray that they sit on is a thrifting find as well. You may remember I posted about it here. I use it to house my glitter shakers. I decided it needed some color for my craft room and I painted it a pretty pink. I like how it looks under my cloche.

I painted some X’s and O’s in the same pretty pink and glittered them generously with some tinsel glitter.

It came together nicely!

I couldn’t leave the dining room table out.

So take a right and a little more pink awaits.

My mom gave me this sweet cherub pot when I was 16, I think. I remember she had put some lilacs in it and it smelled sooooo good.

It’s kind of perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Some wood candle holders I bought a long time ago, got a dry coat of ASCP in old white, then a little sanding.

Simple yet sweet.

Btw, the curio in the corner of the dining room had a makeover with none other than Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I will do a post about that one another day.

There’s some little vintage books.

There’s some Dog Hobble?

Is that the name of this flower?

Then there’s this little broken doll.

My mom found her in their fill dirt pile that I wrote about here.

Remember all those fabulous vintage bottles that they found?

Well, she was buried in there with them.

There’s something about the broken doll that I felt deserved to be displayed.

It’s the perfect spot for now.

The Little Chair that Could…….

So I attended a huge garage sale last August. The kind where you have to find a parking spot somewhere along the road and then walk from house to house to house looking for forgotten treasures……… I thought this garage sale would be the daddy of all garage sales because it’s located in a huge, great, historic neighborhood.

It wasn’t as great as I thought it would be.

I really didn’t find anything worth redoing or saving.

So sad:(

In the car a few hours later on the way out of the neighborhood something PINK caught my eye.

A pink channel back chair in really good condition.

$35

Where’s all the chairs that I hear people snagging for $5 – $10?

Anyway, I wanted the chair and the lady let me have it for $30.

Now, I love pink, and I like velvet, heck, I like pink velvet, but not so much this particular one. And to be completely honest, I don’t love the channels.

I thought this would be the perfect little project for me. My first chair redo. How hard could it be? Everyone’s doing it. Slipcovers out of drop cloth, recovering with burlap, distressing the wood.

Easy peasy.

NOT easy peasy.

This is as far as I got. Totally out of my league. Not the best first chair to try and tackle.

So she sat in the garage for almost 5 months.

My Sweet Savannah did a post on a chair that she had reupholstered by Angie from A & D Upholstery in Everett, WA. Her chair turned out gorgeous.

So, since hub and I thought the chair was worth saving, that is where we took her.

So glad we did.

I love how she turned out.

Not sure what the exact kind of material this is. My husband actually picked it out. Maybe some sort of twill? I really don’t know. We found it at Pacific Fabrics. It’s a light blue.

She added new foam to the seat and redid the webbing in the frame.

I love the double welting and buttons she added.

I painted the frame in ASCP Old White.

I have redone a few pieces in my house with this paint. Will hopefully show you soon.

See the glass cloche behind the chair? Can you guess what the light upright piece is? I know, it’s very hard to see.

I’ll show you in a post tomorrow, stay tuned……..

I’m so glad we stuck it out with this chair. What do you think? Better without the channels?

Look at what happens to my poor little Abby when she goes out in the snow.

She ends up wearing it!

She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and has very soft feathery fur.

Leaves, branches, dirt, and yes

SNOW

get tangled and stuck to the feathery fur on her legs and it is

nearly impossible to get out.

See, here I just told her "Staaaaaay, I have to get my little cup of warm water to dip your paws into, to melt the snow" then I dry her off and she lays by the fire to get nice and warm again.

It's a snow day and probably a snow WEEK for the kids since we are supposed to be hit with a snowstorm tonight and into tomorrow in western Washington.

The kids have been out sledding all day. Here, my daughter was so kind as to help relieve the weight of the snow off the branches of my Japanese Maple.

Oops, good thing she had on her hood!

I think she'd rather be by the fire:)

Before & After

♥Side Table Before & After♥

Before and Afters are one of my favorite things to look at on blogs. I love seeing how things can be transformed from drabulous to fabulous:)

My daughter wanted a bedside table and had found some that she really liked at Pottery Barn. While very pretty, they are also very expensive!

me: Well, dear daughter, this is the perfect excuse to hit some thrift stores and see what we can find!!

11 yr. old daughter: Noooooo!!!!! (moans, moans, and more moans)

Lets just say she hasn't been bit by the "thrifting" bug and I don't see it happening anytime soon:)

Oh well, off we went moans and all and ended up finding this table for $9.99.

Before:

Gorgeous right?! Well, I saw the potential!

I'm sure daughter agreed with me just so we could get out of the store and be done with it!

The finish on the table was peeling badly,

and there was some water stains on top.

But, overall a good piece, with beautiful lines.

This was also my first time using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

I did have to scrape off all the old yellow varnish that was peeling, but other than that, no other prep was needed with ASCP.

After:

I did two coats of chalk paint in Old White and finished with her clear wax.

I just lightly brushed over the handles with the same paint.

Love the curvy lines.

*Btw, the picture on the table was another thrift find that I will post about another day.

Surprise! Surprise!

I was so surprised to receive the Winter 2012 edition of Prims magazine by Stampington and Co. in the mail saying that I had been published.

I had sent in some submissions just a few weeks back, but I knew those would not make it for this latest issue.

So I flipped through the magazine

which is so dang cute.....

and found little miss here inside.

This piece is called "Oh Easter Tree".

This is one of my first pieces that I ever made.

She was originally published in Prims magazine Spring 2011 issue.

Oh, what an exciting day that was!!

Since this latest issue is Spring related, I guess they pulled her out of their archives and featured her again.

Well, thank you Prims!

I am a HUGE fan of all their magazines, I could look at their beautiful pictures all day!

On another note:

I am working on a lot of projects around my house. Were updating bathrooms, I've painted a couple pieces of furniture, I've been thrifting a LOT lately.

So I will have much to show you soon!

A Pinch of Prim

Vintage Bottle Tutorial

My parents are in the process of building a new house. They needed some fill dirt to help level out the ground. So my dad found a place that wanted to get rid of a lot of their dirt and they would dump it at my parents for free.

Good deal!

It wasn't just dirt that got dumped though, there was a ton of these mixed in.

And this is just a small sample of what they uncovered.

Some of these bottles are so old.

It's amazing that they are still in one piece.

Oh my GOSH! Don't throw them away, I want them!

So they saved them for me...Yay!

This was around Halloween and I thought they would be great for making little potion bottles.

I never got around to those, but I also thought they would be really cute for Christmas too!

Cleaning these gems was the hardest part.

I let them soak in soapy water and then washed the outside of them.

It was the inside that was HARD to clean! A toothbrush wouldn't fit, so I read that soaking them in Polydent or any denture cleaner would help loosen stubborn dirt and stains. So that and a bottle brush worked ok. They weren't perfect but that adds to their charm:)

~Tutorial for Vintage Christmas Bottles~

Gather your supplies:

*vintage bottle: (of course, any glass bottle would do)

*graphic: I picked out a cute piece of scrapbook paper at the craft store and cut out my image; you can find and print one online too

*mod podge
*paintbrush
*damp paper towel
*clear fine glitter
*silver glitter paint
*embellishments; ribbons, bells, Christmas balls, anything!

Here's my graphic. Sweet little reindeer.

Paint the back of the graphic with a good coating of mod podge.

Place the graphic where you want it on the bottle, then coat the top of the graphic with another layer of mod podge.

While it is still wet, do a light sprinkling of clear fine glitter over the graphic. You can leave it plain also.

Now is a good time to take a damp paper towel and wipe any excess mod podge and glitter off the bottle.

I then outline the graphic in a bolder color glitter, depending on your picture you may want to use red, gold, green, silvery blue or pink!

Then I decided to fill the inside of my bottle with some Vintage Mica Snow. I wanted a sparkly effect. I've used artificial snow before and sometimes I leave them empty too.

A funnel made this step very easy. If it gets clogged and it will, just poke it with the end of your paintbrush.

After the glitter dries, you can add some of your pretty little touches to the neck of your bottle.

I chose this silver and blue fiber yarn from Martha Stewart that I picked up at Joann's.

That's it!

They don't take long at all and they can dress up a little vignette for Christmas!

There are so many different options, just have fun!

Mr. Red Nose

I apologize for the glare in the photos. It's hard to find good light these days.
Especially where I live we have been enveloped in a cloud of fog the last few days:(
I usually take my pictures outside on the front porch and when I realized how bad the glare was when looking back at the pictures, I said forget it! No way I'm dragging everything back out there, brrrrr!

He has a sparkly red nose and a collar with jingle bells.

He has a cute little white belly and little white spots on his back.

Decked out and ready for the Holidays!

He loves chocolate chip cookies and milk.

Can't you picture him with a little milk mustache?

Now I wanted to show you Little Miss Giraffe that I made especially for Susan. She loves giraffes and now I love making them:)

I made Little Miss Giraffe in the same style as Pink Elly.

A kind of simple, vintage style, with soft, muted colors.

The bow around her neck is a strip of fabric that I cut into strips to use as accessories for my dolls. It has a little stretch to it and it's one of my favorite things to use on my dolls.

No matter how many pretty and different ribbons that I collect, I'm always drawn back to this one.

Then I took a brass rose charm and gave it a light whitewash and attached it to the bow.

She was so sweet looking and fun to make that I've already started another!

Susan was happy, so I'm happy!

Santa and Snowman Whimsies

My first Santa of 2011. It didn't last long in my Etsy shop! I love making Santa's.

His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry....

his cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry....

the beard of his chin was as white as the snow....

let's not forget his little round belly, that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly!

He has the perfect amount of shimmer, that will light up your Christmas vignette.

Wow, I accomplished a lot this last week.

He's a more rustic and primitive piece with a lot of distressed details to him.

One of my favorite things to do to a piece is distress it real good.

This little guy turned out so cute and would make a perfect little addition to a Thanksgiving vignette.

He is thankful to be heading to his new home soon!

Pink Polka Dot Balloon

Goodwill Picture Fix

Hello Everybody!

I love when I get comments on a post and some of you left some wonderful ones about my

Goodwill Hunting Post.

I had been debating whether or not I wanted to fill in the chippy spots on this picture I purchased at the Goodwill with some black paint or leave it be.

I had originally thought that it had a sort of old, vintage, worn feel to it, but,

the more I looked at it and especially after seeing the pictures

of it on my blog, I thought,

it doesn't look good at all!!!

So I knew that I wanted to touch it up with paint.

Before:

There's still some chips here and there and it's not perfect by any means,

but, that's exactly why I like it!

I changed the background paper too. It's from my stash here at home, I'm sure it will be changed again though.

Several times:)

I felt it really needed a burst of color. Since it will be housed in my bookcase which is darker wood, it looked way too washed out with such a light background.

This little vignette is sitting on another Goodwill find. A big heavy thick wood tray. I love it. When I first saw it, I immediately thought I would paint it white, add a graphic and make it into a lazy suzan for my kitchen table.

Now, I'm not so sure.

I found these little leather bound books at Half Price Books. I love to collect old leather books! I was going to use them for a project that I will post about soon, but they didn't work out, so......they will stay with me for now!

Goodwill Hunting

Who would have known that one of my favorite stores would end up being the Goodwill.

I enjoy going to the one in my area. It's clean and pretty organized.

I always head straight to the glassware section searching for old jars, cake platters, tiny pitchers etc..

Then I search for

picture frames and mirrors. I usually always find something I like.

I really liked the frame on this piece, which is a sort of tin and one of my favorite things right now is silhouettes, so I thought if this were cleaned up it could be pretty cute.

For this price, it was worth a shot anyway.

As soon as I get home, it's straight to the sink for some hot, soapy water. I love cleaning up my new pieces and this picture really needed it!

I took it apart and removed the old gold paper that was the background for the silhouette.

I cleaned the frame and then started cleaning the glass only to discover I was taking a lot of the paint off of the silhouette.

Arrgh....

I found some paper I had on hand to replace the old gold one

and

put it all back together.

I can always replace the background paper and still deciding if I want to try and fill in some of the missing silhouette with some black paint.

I found this picture and loved it as is.

Another great price.

The colors on the frame are perfect. French country blue, gold and the perfect amount of wear and tear.

So all I had to do was dust her off and clean up the glass.

I love the picture. So sweet. I added this to a vignette in my dining room hutch. Will post pictures of that later.

I have lots more goodies to share, so until next time.....

Here's a little look at some of my Paper Mache

Halloween pieces for 2011.

All of my work is handsculpted using Paperclay (a clay made of paper) that dries to the consistency of Paper Mache.

First up....

A little Halloween Owl...

he sits atop a wood block

that I covered with vintage typography.

Next up...

Miss Jolly Halloween Witch!

Her little broom is made of black raffia and is complete

with a little orange bow and

cute Halloween charm.

Her friend...

Miss Ginger Witch

also has a black raffia broom with a black satin bow.

She doesn't mind the little spider on her apron.

She is a witch after all!

The wood block she sits upon is edged in glitter.

Can't forget...

Lil' Vampire Cat.

He'll protect...

Lil' Scaredy Cat!

They both have wood bases edged in glitter, tinsel ribbon around their necks and sit atop cute little jack-o-lanterns.

New Garden Pond

One thing on our list of things to get done this summer, was

a pond.

My husband and I have always wanted a stone patio surrounded by flower gardens and a pond.

So each year we have been accomplishing one big project at a time, to ultimately get our garden complete.

This summer....

the pond!

We have three garden areas surrounding the flagstone patio. So this last area next to our shed, was saved for our pond.

First we drew out a shape that we wanted in the dirt. We chose an irregular kidney bean shape.

My dear husband, dug and dug and dug some more. It only took me about 15 minutes to get blisters on my hands and I was ready to call it quits!

Hubby was determined and got it done that day.

At it's deepest we wanted it to be 3 feet so that we could have some Koi fish. We wanted a shallow top shelf so we could place a bubbler rock and some plant life.

Next, after you measure how much liner you will need, it was time to lay an under-layment. This is like a thick felt blanket that protects the rubber pond liner from any sharp rocks and such on the ground.

Now comes the big, thick, heavy pond liner. The worst part was fitting it around the bends. Trying to pleat heavy, thick rubber is not fun:)

Looks like a big mess at this point.

I didn't like these white lines on the liner and noticed (after we already laid it down and were ready to fill it) that the under side was less obvious.

So.....

we took it out, flipped it and started again.

Like I said, this was not my favorite part. Laying the pond liner was difficult and time consuming, but we got it done!

Next step, water!!

We were pulling and pleating the liner as it filled with water, to try and get it as smooth as possible.

There's no way to avoid wrinkles, you just do the best you can.

The big rock on the right has a hole drilled in the center. The pipe from the water pump will feed through the bottom hole, so that the water can flow over the rock and into the pond. You need to measure how many gallons your pond will hold and then get a water pump for your pond. Ours is about 1200 gallons.

Now it's time to accessorize...pond style!

You do need to be very careful while laying the rocks, the worst thing that can happen is if you tear the liner.

Hubby did a beautiful job! I'm so proud. He lined the edges with a couple different kinds of rocks.

We picked out some water plants that will have blooms we'll get to see next summer.

He laid a few groupings of smooth smaller rocks on the bottom of the pond to kind of hide the one white line that we couldn't avoid on the pond liner.

Not a clear picture, but we bought 7 little Koi fish for our pond. They love to hide in those rocks at the bottom of the pond.

She's not the only pet anymore;)

She could watch those fish all day!

I'm so happy with it. It's very relaxing and sort of completes our garden.

Of course there is still lots we want to add and every year we get to watch our flowers and now fish grow.

thrifting for some new items for my craft room.

My fave thing right now seems to be...

♥Glitter Shakers♥

That's what you get when you find old mismatched salt and pepper shakers and fill them with glitter!

I often don't care for the bottles they usually come in anyway and this makes it easier to use and I love the look. I was looking for a small silver serving tray to display them on, but found this candle tray instead. I thought I would spraypaint it Heirloom White when I brought it home, but decided I like the look as it is right now.
What do you think?

Now, the reason I'm frustrated is because I planned on showing lots more pictures of items that I've found on my thrifting trips and of my Halloween WIP's (works in progress) and even some unsightly (messy!) pictures of my craft room (I will be doing some before and after pics) since I'm giving it a makeover. But my pictures have been turning out horrible.

There's not very good lighting in my craft room right now and well, what I really need is a digital slr.

Until then, I'll do the best I can! I have so many projects on my list right now that will be fun to share, so stay tuned...

Today I'm sharing the story of another interesting collectible...

Frozen Charlottes.

Ever heard of these little dolls or seen them popping up everywhere

including as charms for jewelry or as popular collectibles?

Frozen Charlottes are a particular style of porcelain doll made from

1850-1920.

They are unjointed dolls and are considered "frozen" in place.

They range in size from under 1" to 18".

The 1" sized dolls were also known as "penny dolls" since they sold for one cent each. Children often collected these dolls due to their low cost.

The original poem by Sebra Smith, called "Young Charlotte" was written after reading an article in the "New York Observer" on

Feb 8, 1840 that stated "A young woman...was frozen to death...

while riding to a ball on Jan 1, 1840.

The poem then inspired the American Folk Ballad

by William Lorenzo Carter "Fair Charlotte".

The ballad tells the tale of a beautiful young woman and her

beau Charles who travel 15 miles by sleigh on a bitterly cold night to attend a ball.

Her mother warned her to wrap up in a blanket to keep warm, but sadly Charlotte did not listen. She wanted to be seen looking beautiful in her gown for the ball, a blanket wouldn't allow that and would wrinkle her gown.

After 5 miles of traveling in the cold, Charles told Charlotte his hands were so cold it was hard to grip the reins. Charlotte then admits she is very cold herself, but still refuses to wrap up.
Awhile later Charlotte says she is starting to feel a bit warmer.
She looks distant, her lips are blue and Charles is very worried about her. When they finally arrive to the ball, Charles rushes to help Charlotte out of the sleigh, only to find her a frozen, solid, lifeless corpse!
The grief was too much for Charles to bear and he died of a broken heart.

To think, all this from just a little tidbit of an article in the paper, began a tale of love, that ended in tragedy.

So, the dolls originally called Victorian Bathing Dolls were then dubbed Frozen Charlottes after the ballad "Fair Charlotte" because of their frozen and fair appearance.

I love that story and thought it would be nice to share with you all!

I thought it would be fun to share some interesting facts about some of the collectibles that everyone (myself included) are so crazy about these days. I always like to know a little of the history that belongs to these pieces as it usually makes them more appealing and intriguing to me. For my first Friday Fact, I chose:

Blue Ball Jars!

I can't help but love these jars in the perfect shade of blue. When the sun hits them just right they sparkle.

In the early 1880's the Ball Brothers built a fruit-jar empire. They took over several smaller jar companies and mass produced their jars across the country.

The most common Ball jars known are PERFECT MASON, IDEAL, SURE SEAL, IMPROVED & SPECIAL. But there are countless versions out there.

These jars also contain various logos that can help determine their age.

Ball jars come in colors that range from standard clear, aquamarine, and green to less-common amber.

Amber jars (pictured above) were made to keep fruit from turning brown. They were meant to keep out harmful effects of light rays. However, their color made it harder to see what fruit was inside the jar, therefore they were not as popular.

Since fewer were made in amber, olive green and cornflower blue they are sought after today by Ball jar collectors.

Square jars were made so homemakers could stack jars closer together, thus taking up less space in kitchens or cellars. Once again less were made of this jar, so they are worth more to collectors.

Blue Monday!
I'm so excited to partake in Ruby Jeans "My Blue Monday" linky party. Awhile back I posted that I would share with you all my recipe for "Michelle's Favorite Dessert". Yesterday was my birthday and that means that I'm gonna have some of my favorite dessert! Over the years we've topped off the dessert with different berries, but my favorite one to use is BLUE berries. So this works out perfectly to share for "My Blue Monday". This is a very easy dessert to make and a perfect one for summer.

One of my favorite flowers too, this hydrangea did so well this year.

"Michelle's Favorite Dessert" Recipe:

Will Need:

1 cup flour
½ cup soft butter
2 Tbsp sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts
8 oz cream cheese - soft
1 cup powdered sugar
1 container cool whip
2 small pkg instant vanilla pudding
2 cup milk

To Prepare:

1. Mix together - flour, soft butter, sugar and chopped walnuts. Press into 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Let cool.

2. Beat together - soft cream cheese, powdered sugar and 1 cup cool whip. Then spread on crust.

3. Mix the instant pudding and milk together, then pour over cheese mixture. Let pudding set before topping with remaining cool whip.

4. You can then top final finish with berry of your choice. ♥Blueberries♥

I've been inspired lately by mixed media art. My favorite medium to work with is Paperclay, but I do love to mix mediums and play with layers too. I've been having a lot of fun making little tutu's and accessories to go along with my pieces.
This little girl is an example of that. I added a little sparkle to her hair bow, vintage mica glitter (heart rating:♥♥♥♥♥ 5 hearts!) to her bodice and a fun little black fluffy tutu.

I had a lot of fun making these paper projects for July's Pfatt Marketplace. Some information that didn't get listed on Pfatt is the size of the Paper Cakes. They are little cakes about 4" high and 4 1/2" wide. The Paper Cone is 7" long, the description on Pfatt says 7' long! That's what I get for rushing to submit my information at midnight of the closing date!

Here in the Pacific Northwest we are having fabulous weather for the 4th of July. It's usually hit or miss around here. For us Summer now begins! We have the deck all set up for a BBQ. Burgers, baked beans, pasta salad, watermelon, chips and spinach artichoke dip (from Costco, nummy!). For dessert we are having "Michelle's Favorite Dessert" that is the name and no one can change it:) lol.
I will be doing a post with the recipe on my blog soon. It's usually a special treat that I have on my birthday in August, but.......maybe I'll have to do it sooner:):):)

My Dear, sweet, loving grandfather passed away on June 6, 2011. He was 96 years old and lived quite a life. He faced so many difficulties and challenges in his life yet was happily married to my grandmother for 68 years until her death on February 1, 2010. They raised 5 children, my mother, the youngest took excellent care of them and was with them everyday of the last few years of their lives that they required more care. I know that they appreciated her so much more than she'll ever know. They have many grandchildren, many many great grandchildren and even some great great grandchildren. He is greatly missed and loved.

Oh Easter Tree......

is now listed on ebay for a 7 day auction that ends Monday May 16. This was my first featured art piece in a magazine. It was actually one of my first art pieces period. I am so honored that it made it into PRIMS magazine by Stampington &Co.. I love all their magazines (there are a lot of them!). They are all so beautifully photographed and put together, they just make me happy to look at!

I also just finished a special order piece that I had a lot of fun making. It was for a "Sweet 16" birthday. Her mom sent me some pictures and some ideas of what she wanted included in the piece. She especially liked a picture of her daughter at the beach wearing a cute beach hat and she wanted her dog to be included and "Sweet 16" to be in there somewhere as well. I was able to come up with something that she liked. I can take special order requests as well. You can contact me here.

I have one of the hardest working mom's out there and I admire and cherish her everyday! (Love you mom!) Tulips+Sun=Spring!

We lucked out today with a beautiful, clear, sunny day! So, we headed up to Mt.Vernon, Wa. to see the tulip fields. Our early spring weather here in the Pacific Northwest can usually be a little dreary with overcast skies and rain but c'mon, enough is enough! On the other hand when we have blue skies and sun, Spring is a beautiful season here. If you ever visit Wa. in April, make sure to visit the tulip fields!

This is a little sneak peek of KC the adorable little elephant. In real life Dylan and Casey are my two fantastic children. Brother and sister & someday soon, great friends.(Crossing my fingers, lol) BTW, my daughter chose to be the elephant, so I had to make her extra cute!
At the circus Lil' Dil and KC are best friends. KC will be up for auction this Sunday, April 2nd. They look so cute together and there are more circus friends on the way!

The Most Spectacular Show on Earth.......

I just finished reading "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. LOVED IT! I definitely recommend it. I knew of this book a few years back but had never read it. I'm so glad that I did. I recently saw the trailer for the upcoming Water for Elephants movie and knew this was something that I would be interested in. Vintage and whimsy galore. I have always loved the vintage, faded and whimsical look of old carnivals and circuses. So this is the inspiration behind some of my upcoming pieces. Old and tattered circus animals and maybe some other circus characters.Stay tuned and keep a look out for some new pieces by me on ebay.
